Astral Ariel solutions have revamped last-mile air cargo delivery and crop spraying service by adopting technology from Yamaha. The local UAV service company will incorporate the Yamaha Frazer R G2 drone into its fleet. The new addition will focus its automated flights in uninhabited areas.
The agreement was signed at TICAD7, sealing a strategic partnership aimed at transforming agriculture while fostering the thriving partnership between Japan and Kenya.
The adoption of drone technology in agriculture is gaining traction. Goldman Sachs touts the sector as the second-highest adopter of drone technology. Astral Aviation CEO & Founder, Mr. Sanjeev Gadhia, expressed optimism in the newfound partnership while at the TICAD conference in Yokohama.
The Frazer helicopter drone is FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) approved, and ideal for agricultural applications. Yamaha has a solid reputation back in Japan as its unmanned technology delivers pesticides to 35% of the rice fields.
Other services offered by Astral are medical deliveries, humanitarian cargo air transport, and aerial mapping services.
